Rustic Black

Every fixture starts with a high-quality black powder coat that is electrostatically applied and baked onto the iron. This creates a strong, uniform base layer that prepares the surface for our patina work.   The patina is applied entirely by hand. We use small brushes and pads to layer the color onto the fixture. The paint isn’t sprayed on; it’s worked into the metal so it catches the raised areas, scrolls, edges, and natural textures of the iron.

The surface is layered by hand with deep charcoal and soft graphite tones, then lightly distressed to bring out the natural texture of the metal.  This process creates a matte, weathered look with subtle variation—similar to naturally aged iron.

This hand-painted patina highlights the forged details and gives each fixture subtle variation, similar to the way real iron ages over time. The result is an authentic, old-world finish that pairs well with Spanish Revival, Mediterranean, and rustic architectural styles.
